Laura Farmer joined MarketPoint in 2013. She applies her expertise in marketing, publicity and communications strategy to help clients achieve greater visibility and market share for their organizations.
A published and versatile writer, Laura also specializes in content marketing, including website and marketing copy, editorial content, grant proposals, technical manuals, annual reports and press releases. She has written speeches for influential leaders at events hosted by The National Press Club, the Baltimore’s Mayor’s Office and SmartCEO magazine. She also has experience writing marketing copy, editorial content, grant proposals, technical manuals and annual reports and has been published by Playbill, Overture and Applause magazines.
A musician by training, her experience includes consulting for the region’s premier arts organizations, including managing and supporting the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s communications and publicity strategy for more than a decade. She served as a founding board member for the Deer Creek Chorale in 2007 and as a panelist for Maryland State Arts Council’s “Arts in Communities” grant review board in 2008.
Laura holds a Master of Business Administration with a marketing concentration from Loyola University of Maryland, which featured her in their 2013 “See Business Differently” advertising campaign.
A coloratura soprano, Laura received her bachelor’s degree in music performance with an opera concentration from Gordon College. She also studied in Salzburg, Austria under the tutelage of world-renowned musicians of the Salzburg Summer Music Festival and performed at various music festivals in Austria during her time there. Her performance career includes appearances with the Annapolis Opera, the Arundel vocal Arts Society, Handel Choir of Baltimore and The Mount Vernon Players, as well as the Bethesda Opera Program.
